This had me laughing, as my boss just handed me an article in our newspaper that talks about how bacon is being added to more desserts.. Included recipes for Bacon Prailine Ice Cream and Peanut Butter Bacon Cookies. Sounds like bacon is for any type of dish now a days.
cupcakes? chocolate? DEFINITELY!!lol :)
hehe, yea. I love the enthusiasm!
Bacon really is so trendy as of late, isn't it? As an Italian food lover, I was thinking that I actually prefer bacon to prosciutto, and I wonder if that downgrades my culinary taste! The broccoli cheetos article has received some pompous critism, and I secretly plan to make it! Thanks for posting and you've been stumbled :)
I love slow food... there's something about it thats just so comforting!
Someone send me the broccoli article to read, but I didn't know what cheetos were and had to google it...
Well Cheetos aren't exactly commonly used as an ingredient, but are more often featured as the main course...
The word slow food reminds me of that pot roast dinner at the Slowski's. But yeah, bacon is appearing in unusual places in 2008 for sure.
I hate to say it, but even the broccoli and cheetos thing is pretty creative
chocolate + anything...yeah for Fondue!
kismet - you bet! Total comfort food, with the cheap cuts. Really my fave....
chef e -totally wild combo, but definitely creative! Healthy + well...not healthy. Pretty funny though, but a nice sort of oxymoron type of thing.
rustic, simple food, heirloom tomatoes...
slow, organic food, farmer's market for sure!
I'm not sure I agree with the flying fish roe, but definitely the slow food and comfort food, especially with so many people cooking more.
I thought bacon was always in style :)
I reckon people will be using more Japanese knives in the kitchen as they discover that they out perform their European counterparts. Also anything bacon, charcuterie, sherry especially Fino and sake. BTW yesterday I made bacon caramel corn and a bacon caramel sundae. Yummy.
