short and sweet

Some combinations with chocolate we are familiar with; chocolate with hazelnut, chocolate and orange, chocolate and raspberry. But how about chocolate and curry, or chocolate and taleggio cheese? Fennel pollen? vosges chocolate These are Vosges chocolates. They hail from Chicago, but there is also an outpost in Las Vegas, and I generally always seem to pick up some new kind of chocolate every time I travel. Can you blame me? vosges purple box Somehow, there is usually some kind of adventure to find the chocolate. And major decision making... how much can I really bring home? It's tough. Luckily, Vosges was easy to find, but the chocolates themselves are for the adventurous at heart. Although, nothing is offensive. The chocolates are ultimately extremely palatable, albeit unique. The flavours are a bit more like just a dusting, but there is something to be said for a new chocolate experience. And chocolate experiences are what Vosges is all about. The creator, Katrina Markoff, is an entrepreneur of the future; creative, innovative, daring, and is connected to her world. So is her product. She doesn't just create chocolates, but also ice creams, and many other confections, which she generally groups by theme. Sometimes her chocolates come with cd's, but I was just interested in the chocolates, which are very good, but these chcolates are also about the concept behind the chocolate. My favourite was the "hip-hop"; white chocolate with gold leaf, and Krug champagne. Ok, there's a little fun and whimsy in there too. vosges chocolate and light A bit more on the concept behind the chocolates, and a feast for anyone suffering from visual deprivation.

Nice stuff...and thanks for not insisting that wine and chocolate are a defacto good pairing... only super sweet (port) and super dry (champagne) have any business on or near the candy aisle.

Also look into Noka, they do not suck, as well as Charles Chocolates in Cali, who does a killer spicy crystallized ginger chocolate.

Hands-down, my favorite chocolate company. They do amazing things with white chocolate and kalamata olives.

And... they have a chocolate bar with BACON!

MMmmm. I do love their chocolates. I have a client in Chicago so everytime I am in town I pick up a box. I happen to be there right before Valentine's Day so perhaps I will have to snag something special.

Pairing wine and chocolate can get pretty complex, as we discovered recently when we interviewed a Master Chocolatier.

I always hit Vosges in NYC, it serves to feed the savage beast, and I'm always in much better spirits afterward.

The video is also amazing, proves there is divinity in chocolate!

Oh my gosh. They gave these out at a work event and I was SO jealous that as event staff I didn't get them :( Your review just made me even more jealous.

I didn't know they had a store. I've been buying bars from Cookbook Company for a while.

These are wonderful Chocolates that have interesting combinations.
Bought my first box a few years ago on North Mich Ave in Chicago when they first opened.
Now love all their very creative exotiic bars that you can find at Whole Foods.
Not as good as La Maison du Chocolat in Paris, but a close second.
